How to Accept Cash Payments in the Digital Age with MoneyGram

We’re excited to announce that MoneyGram payments are now available to all your residents. Cash payments will be deposited in your bank account just like ACH payments, and they’ll be reflected on the payments page in ManageGo.

Put an end to cash handling and money orders, by having your residents submit cash payments through MoneyGram or a MoneyGram affiliate.

When you log in to your account on ManageGo, you’ll see a unique MoneyGram Unit Code next to each unit. Your residents can use this code to make payments to their unit. (The Unit Code is also displayed in the Profile section on the resident portal).

We prepared marketing materials and letters that you can send to your residents to notify them about MoneyGram payments, and also to explain the process.

How it works:
• A resident walks into any MoneyGram location
• They complete the standard payment form, and include their unique Unit Code
• MoneyGram notifies us of the payment
• We deposit the money in your bank account
• We display the paid amount on the ManageGo portal

To get started with MoneyGram, call us at 212-300-7950 to enable it for your account. Once we turn it on, just notify your residents and tell them where they can find their Unit Code!

How to Manage Security Deposits With Ease Thanks to Obligo

In our many years of dealing with property managers, we’ve often come across a concern that’s shared by many of you: How to handle the complexities of taking and holding security deposits.

As you know, security deposits are tangled in legalities. Landlords are required to store the money in a separate interest-bearing account, they need to send annual interest notifications, and there’s a tight window for returning the deposit.

With ManageGo‘s integration with Obligo, you can now take advantage of their ideal solution for property managers and residents. Obligo takes over the entire process, from taking the deposit to distribution. And best of all, Obligo is completely free for property managers.

How it works:
1) When a resident completes the Rental Application process on ManageGo, you have the option to send them an automated message to make a security deposit with Obligo.

2) The resident has two options:
a) They can either pay the entire amount upfront, just like they would usually do, but Obligo would take care of it instead of you. Or,
b) They can choose to not pay the security deposit at lease signing, and instead opt to provide their payment information to Obligo to be used in case it’s needed at the end of the lease. For a small monthly fee to the resident, Obligo will validate and store the payment account, and provide a guarantee to the property manager.

3) In case you need to charge the security deposit after the lease ends, you simply submit your request to Obligo; they’ll front the money for the amount you requested and deposit it to your account right away. They’ll then collect the money from the resident.

Maintenance Has Never Been Easier! Integrate Your Requests with RentManager Today

In addition to our payments integration with RentManager – where we automatically import rent payments in real time – we now also do the same for maintenance tickets!

When a resident creates a maintenance request via the ManageGo app, website, or email, we will also create a RentManager Issue.

Maintenance requests will also be updated with the current status, so you can easily track open and closed tickets.

Things are Changing: Welcome to the New ManageGo Interface

The next time you log in to your ManageGo account, you’ll notice things look a little different. That’s because we’ve launched a major update to our web and mobile interfaces!

Residents can now specify up to 3 convenient time slots for management to enter their apartment. Instead of going back and forth figuring out a time that works for everyone, residents can now indicate their preferred time slots while creating their work order request.

Ticket checklists
You can now add a to-do list to maintenance tickets, where maintenance users can check off completed tasks.

Reply Permissions
Set up a role-based ticket reply system, where users within your company can either respond to residents, or only internally, or not at all. This ensures the comments are always on par with what residents expect.

Multiple Categories
Maintenance tickets can now be assigned to multiple categories, making it easier to manage multi-faceted work orders.

Multiple Assignees
Tickets can now also be assigned to multiple people at once, making it easier to automatically distrubute tasks and work orders.

Flexible Settings
We fully expanded the settings section to allow for much greater flexibility in individual user settings.

Push Notifications
You’ll now receive instant push notification using the new mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Improved Search
Filter and search in Payments and maintenance Tickets with easier selections, including multiple buildings and accounts.

Cloud Storage
Store your property documents in the cloud, and share your building and resident files with your team and residents.

Payments QuickView
We have optimized the way you see incoming payments to include related transactions and bank reconciliations.

Lockbox
We now accept checks-by-mail from your residents and deposit them to your bank account, and recording the payments on the resident dashboard. Learn more about Lockbox here!

Sharing files with residents:

  • To share a file with a resident, upload the file to the resident’s file folder

Scheduling Made Easy: Introducing ManageGo’s Latest Cutting Edge Solution

With ManageGo‘s cutting edge Calendar feature, you can see what’s on your teams’ schedule and current and upcoming appointments for all buildings. View your calendar by the day, week, month, or by event. 

Each user has a unique web calendar for their created events, or events they have been invited to. Admin and Manager Users are able to view and manage the calendar for all users.

To create a new event to add to your calendar, click “Event/Task” when creating a ticket, then assign a date and the appropriate users.

When an event is created, the event is automatically added to the calendar and all users’ calendars are instantly updated when they are added to an event.
